Making a Field Guide More Comfortable to Read. ๐๐ฆ
Books on biodiversity education or scientific guides are usually associated with an impression that is too formal and dense. In this Editorial Design project for the book "Burung-burung Punggualas Taman Nasional Sebangau" (Birds of Punggualas, Sebangau National Park), a WWF Publication, the main focus was to break that impression.
As the cover and interior layout designer, I took a minimalist layout approach that is easy on the eyes. Sufficient white space, typography that isn't too rigid, and well-arranged high-quality photography let readers enjoy the information inside without getting bored quickly.
The result is a visual guidebook that is casual, aesthetic, yet still informative and precise, whether carried into the field or read leisurely at home.
